In the History” Art Competition – Finalists, Prizes and Awards”

Ariel’s fantastic ballet career is over. She is no longer able to reach the gates of heaven during her never-ending pirouettes and glamorous jumps. Her body is now deformed and she feels constant pain. Her twisted joints are permanently inflamed and swollen. Her potential to perform and inspire is forever gone. Underneath her fake pose and put on facade, she is very down to Earth. She has never enjoyed dancing. It was her parents dream, which destroyed her future, health and beautiful body… Once upon a time, her mother had one distinct ambition in life – she wanted to become a famous ballet dancer.
My artwork is now exhibited at a brand new Interactive Online Exhibition! The show is titled ‘In the History’ and organised by the prestigious The Artist Lounge. 70 artworks were selected for the display and 20 finalists will be announced at the end of July.
“In the History” Art Competition called for artists worldwide, from April to May 2021, to share their artworks inspired by history or by historic characters.
“Through history we can learn how past societies, systems and ideologies were built, how they changed, and how their influence moulded humanity to create what we are now. History is more than old tales and stories written down in books. History is part of everything, and our today will one day be history.”
The Artist Lounge is proud to announce the semi-finalists of our “In the History” Art Competition, now part of our Online Exhibition below. Our talented artists come from all around the world and the collection of their artworks is a piece of art on itself. We welcome you all to this fantastic journey:

Pav Szymanski MA Fine Art Digital with distinction (UAL), BPhil (Ed) (EXON), Cert Ed (EXON)
Painter & Lecturer
Biography:
Pav Szymanski has dedicated over 30 years to the fine art of painting. His current research project centres on exploring visual responses to observations of individuals seemingly trapped in repetitive, hypnotic patterns of existence. Extensive travel to interview and document those genuinely struggling with survival in their societal contexts allowed him to gather substantial primary sources and evidence from across the globe. Perhaps the most impactful findings emerged from trips to Haiti, Burundi and Myanmar, inspiring spectacular new paintings.
These paintings have motivated him to develop innovative approaches to image-making befitting the subject matter. He combines the power of traditional mastery with contemporary thought and deep reflection.
He works full-time as a Program Coordinator for Art & Design at a large institution offering diverse Further and Higher Education qualifications. His expertise is recognised through appointments as an external examiner at prestigious institutions like the University of The Arts, London and the Academic Qualifications Alliance.
Awards including the International Vision Collector’s Award and the Contemporary Art Curator Magazine’s Power of Creativity Art Prize highlight his contributions.
Entering the peak of his career, his commitment to original artistic vision and tireless drive inspire younger generations of artists. His name has become synonymous with fearless innovation and creative brilliance in the world of fine art and digital. The future remains bright for this painter whose global travels inform his striking, socially-conscious works.

Artist Statement:
My work serves as a journey of inner exploration, revealing my fears, desires, and uncertainties so that I may reassess them. Through painting, I examine my responses to the concealed realities of existence—those truths we sense but struggle to articulate.
The value of these works lies in their atmospheric quality and symbolic resonance. I employ subdued lighting and evocative colour to create spaces of contemplation, where meaning emerges gradually from shadow. My aim is to explore inner darkness so that understanding may surface through creative expression, allowing both myself and viewers to encounter what has remained hidden.

I have continued with the painterly process while repeating Aries’s body in a rhythmic movement. The intention is to arrange a sensation of grace and ballet in the context of anxiety and worries. After all, Ariel has bend her moral spine and made her principles vague and ambiguous. What is she going to do next?
I have been selected to take part in the online show. My piece will also be published in the second edition of The Art Lounge Magazine. The finalists will be announced on the 21st June.
