COLLECTION AS A VERB
Series of exhibitions with the joint
title Collection as a Verb, which are created as a team effort, so as to redefine the concept of the museum and the social context in which it is situated. The exhibitions are not a completed project, but rather a process and a quick reaction to the events that surround us. After the exhibition SAD SONGS OF WAR dedicated to war and violence, COMRADESHIP opens up the theme of solidarity and compassion, the role of art and museums in improving the world.
DANIJEL ŽEŽELJ: LIGHT BLACK / October 7 – November 20, 2022
The artist Danijel Žeželj has transformed the space of the MSU BLACK BOX into an environment that, to some extent, refers to The Head of the Deer, his latest comic book that evokes the permeations, connections and correlations between nature and society. It is about an immersive environment, a kind of embodied drawing. Žeželj is primarily considered a storyteller who uses images instead of words.

Visit to Serralves Foundation

I have been privileged to view some of the best art at Serralves Foundation in Porto. The exhibition includes new and fascinating work by WeiWei and some disturbing sound pieces by Pedro Tudela. I left this breathtaking and touching experience on ‘soft legs’ and with a head full of new ideas and inspirations.

In the History – Exhibition at The Artist Lounge

Dear Artist,

It’s our pleasure to announce that our “In the History” Group Exhibition is coming up – and we are sure it will look phenomenal!

If you are receiving this email, it’s because your artwork has been received at the gallery and has been successfully installed in the exhibition.

The exhibition will run from the Saturday (31/07/21) to the following Saturday (07/08/21), and is being held at King House Gallery (7 The Minories, off Henley Street, CV376NF). If you are driving, the closest car park is the “Windsor Street Shoppers Car Park”, 21 Windsor St, Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 6NL. Access to the gallery is through The Minores entrance, right in front of the Shakespeare Birthplace on Henley Street.

The opening event will happen on Saturday (31/07), with live music (violinist) from 11.30 am to 2.30pm, and a professional photographer from 11am to 4pm. We have a gorgeous backdrop on the exhibition floor, and would love to take several photos of you with your friends/family there – as well as ones of you with your painting, of course!

If you have any COVID symptoms, please do not attend the event and self-isolate as recommended by current guidelines.

The forecast for Saturday is warm but rainy (but then again, it’s England, we only going to know for sure on the day). But fingers crossed we get to get an alright weather, as it makes a significant difference for events’ footfall on weekends. The Ads are out to get us as many visitants as possible, and we can’t wait to see how it goes.

Between the 2nd to 6th of August, it’s required booking to visit the gallery. Private viewings during the week are still free and can be booked on this link: https://www.theartistlounge.org/inthehistory-exhibition

The final day is on Saturday, the 7th of August. For the Saturday, bookings are not required. Everyone is welcome to visit from 10am to 5pm.
